Tackling the Globe: Dhani Jones

This sexy NFL linebacker, fashion entrepreneur, environmental philanthropist, community volunteer and all-around Renaissance man, Dhani Jones now adds Travel Channel host to his lengthy resume. A travel enthusiast, Dhani Jones has merged two of his greatest passions, travel and sports, for “Dhani Tackles the Globe“, where he travels the world exploring the ways in which traditional sports help to define culture.

This hunk is best-known for his career in the NFL where, over the past eight years, he has played for the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints and, currently, the Cincinnati Bengals. Off the field, Dhani Jones often can be found wearing one of his signature bow ties. In fact, in 2005 Dhani Jones founded Five Star Ties, his own line of men’s accessories.

Named one of People magazine’s “50 Hottest Bachelors of 2005,” Dhani Jones is no stranger to the spotlight. In addition to hosting and appearing on numerous television shows including “The Colbert Report“, “Carson Daly Show,” and ESPN’s “Cold Pizza” and “Timeless,” Dhani Jones has received accolades for his charity work for former Vice President Al Gore’s Climate Change Project and the United Nations’ World Food Program. Dhani Jones also represented the New York Giants at a press conference for the “Gift of New York,” a September 11 philanthropy organization designed to provide victims’ families with free access to New York’s theatrical, artistic, cultural, sports and live entertainment venues.

With hobbies such as writing poetry, oil-painting, wood-working, fashion design, photography and playing classical music, Dhani Jones’ love of the arts sustain him during football’s off-season.

Dhani Jones is a Maryland native and attended the University of Michigan. Dhani Jones currently lives in both Cincinnati and San Diego. He founded a company that sells high-end bowties.
